Lilacs
Lilac, (genus Syringa), has a genus of about 25 species of fragrant, beautiful northern spring-flowering shrubs and small trees. There are over 1,000 varieties of lilac bushes!!!
Lilac plants have deep green leaves and their small four-petaled flowers are in large oval clusters. The flowers are typically various shades of purple, but some cultivars can be magenta, pink, or white.
Lilac trees and bushes grow from a small plant of 10′ to 15′ or to a larger and taller variety of up to 30′.
When lilacs bloom, small breezes spread their beautiful, sweet scent in their vicinity.
Many choose to simply enjoy the flowering blossoms on the lilac bushes, but many choose to cut these blossoms and use them for a beautiful addition of color and scent to their home.
