Lilacs

Lilac, (genus Syringa), have a genus of about 25 species of fragrant and beautiful northern spring-flowering shrubs and small trees with over 1,000 varieties of lilac bushes.

Lilac plants have deep green leaves and their small four-petalled flowers are in large oval clusters. The flowers are typically purple to lilac, but some cultivars can be magenta, pink, or white.
Lilac trees and bushes grow from a small plant of 10’15’ or to a larger and taller varietal of up to 30′.
When lilacs bloom a small breeze may spread their beautiful, sweet scent in their vicinity.
Many choose to simply enjoy the flowering blossoms on the lilac bushes outdoors, but many choose to cut these blossoms and use them as cut flowers inside in a vase.
