Garlic and Herb Cheese Spread

We all love fresh bread!!!  Especially a homeade sourdough loaf.  But it’s even better when you have a delicious spread to put on it.  This easy cheese spread is a fresh change from plain old butter.  Gemma has been making sourdough bread everyday and it is yummy!!  It’s good all by itself, better with some butter, but even better with this cheese spread.  You can make it ahead and have it in the fridge all ready to go.  It incorporates fresh herbs.  You can use dried ones but in the summer when you have your fresh herb garden, there is nothing better.

 

 

What You Need

You will need cream cheese, butter, sugar, salt, garlic, rosemary, parsley, sage, and your favorite bread or crackers.

 

How To Make The Spread

Start by chopping the fresh herbs very fine.  You can also use scissors to chop them up.

You want to make sure that the butter and cream cheese are at room temperature so they mix up easily.  You want the texture to be very smooth without any lumps.

Put the butter and cream cheese into a medium size bowl with the herbs and seasonings.  Mix with a hand mixer or stand mixer until smooth and creamy.

It’s that easy!!  Serve immediately on fresh bread or crackers.  You can also make ahead and chill it in the fridge.
